The 35th reunion dinner was held on Aug 23, 2026, in conjunction with the Tin Can Sailors Association annual convention, at the Crown Plaza in Warwick Rhode Island.
Rob Jobrack pulled together a great event.

Attendance was small, but we had a good meal, and many sea stores got (re)told.

The Peter Hsu 35th drawing was unveiled. The recent SM-3 operational emplyment and support of the 2025 12-Day war and Operation Epic Fury are highlighted. In light of the operational context, the image of Admiral Burke is as a two-star in operational command.
As Peter was not able to attend, there will be another unveiling where Peter will have the opportunity to narrate his drawing.

Admiral Burke’s Grand Niece and Nephew attended – Mary Anne Burke and Martin Weaver. At the Tin Can Sailors auction, Mary Anne won a framed copy of the Peter Hsu commissioning drawing – one that was missing from her collection. The donor, David Kinne, was a former BIW employee.

Pre-event socializing –

Again, thanks to Rob Jobrack for pulling this event together. Even though lightly attended, there was no less work for preparation. And we did get good time to reconnect with shipmates.
We want to continue the opportunities for reconnection as we look forward to 40. Stay tuned for opportunities to obtain a 35th coin and lapel pin, and maybe a Peter Hsu drawing. We are planning a Feb 2027 happy hour in the Jacksonville area, and will reserve pins and coins for attendees at that event.
