Loss of a Success Contributor – William Haggett

Former Bath Iron Works President William “Bill” Haggett, who led the shipyard from 1981 to 1992, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Haggett led BIW through some of its most significant program changes, including the successful competition to become the follow yard in producing Ticonderoga-class cruisers and the critical competition to become the lead yard for the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, the DDG 51s that have become the longest running Navy shipbuilding program.

Kevin Brennan, Jul 1953 – Aug 2022 

Kevin was a key contributor to the success of two major DoD programs, one of the quiet heroes that deliver effective capability to the warfighter, and that have made AEGIS BMD an enduring, operationally relevant capability.

Loss of a Shipmate – CWO4 Nick Moore

The association has learned Nick Moore passed in Aug 2024 from complications of brain cancer. Nick was a plankowner – assistant CIC Officer.

Update: A celebration of Nick’s life will be held September 7, 2024 from 10:00 until 1:00 at Sturtevant Event Center, 5100 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA

The Association has recently learned of the passing of Master Chief Wojewodzic. He was the commissioning CF Master Chief and Combat Systems Maintenance Manager, a key contributor to the successful completion of TechEval and OpEval.
