July 1, 2011 USS Arleigh Burke arrived pierside at Nauticus Pier in downtown Norfolk for the 4th of July weekend in commemoration of its 20th anniversary.

August 25, DDG 51 emergency sortied from Naval Station Norfolk to avoid the approaching Category 2 Hurricane Irene.

September 16, USS Arleigh Burke departed Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Va., to participate in a multinational exercise Joint Warrior 11-2, off the coast of Scotland, from Oct. 1-17.

October 3, The Arleigh Burke departed Her Majesty’s Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde after a brief port visit to Faslane, Scotland; Moored at HMNB Clyde again on Oct. 14; Returned to Norfolk following its participation in Joint Warrior 11-2 and multiple training and preservation evolutions in Mayport, Fla., on Nov. 9.
