February 27, The guided-missile destroyer entered the Mediterranean Sea after transiting Strait of Gibraltar.

March 2, USS Arleigh Burke moored at General Cargo Terminal in Port of Marseille, France, for an extended 12-day port call; Transited the Suez Canal on March 20; Entered the Arabian Gulf for Maritime Interception Operations (MIO) on March 28.

March 29, The Arleigh Burke moored at Berth 6, Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP) in Hidd, Bahrain, for a four-day port call for inchop brief and turnover with the USS Hopper (DDG 70).

April 26, USS Arleigh Burke moored at Mina Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for a five-day liberty port visit; Inport KBSP, Bahrain, again from May 10-16 and May 30- June 6; Moored at Berth 59, Quay 9 in Port of Jebel Ali, U.A.E., from July 9-13.

August 8, USS Arleigh Burke moored at Berth 4, Khalifa Bin Salman Port for a 23-day upkeep; Moved to Berth 6 on Aug. 1?.

August 22, BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair was awarded a $55,9 million modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-4308) for the USS Arleigh Burke’s Extended Selected Restricted Availability (ESRA). Work is expected to be completed by December 2016.

September 9, The Arleigh Burke moored at Berth 6, Khalifa Bin Salman Port for a four-day port call to conduct outchop brief and turnover with the USS Mahan (DDG 72); Transited the Strait of Hormuz southbound on Sept. 14.

September 23, USS Arleigh Burke launched its first Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAMs) after 1.30 a.m. local time, while underway in the Red Sea, on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targets in Syria; Transited the Suez Canal northbound on Sept. 24.

September 29, The guided-missile destroyer moored at Quay 13b in Port of Civitavecchia, Italy, for a five-day liberty visit to Rome; Transited the Strait of Gibraltar on Oct. 6; Brief stop at Ponta Delgada, Azores, to refuel on Oct. 9.

October 17, USS Arleigh Burke returned to homeport after an eight-month Arabian Gulf deployment.
